Program/Project Benefit Monitoring and Evaluation System

As internal statistical system of monitoring and evaluation of the socio-economic impacts of the project, PBMES serves as basis for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the program implementation. As recommended by MASIPAG evaluators, there is a need to improve effective tracking of adaptors for both full and those yet in transition stage. This requires training of farmers and NGO staff in data collection and analysis, and also means updating and refining if necessary, the data base and monitoring and evaluation framework in late 1999.

The benchmark surveys completed in the early part of 2000 shall be enhanced as important reference for monitoring and evaluation of the social and economic impact of the program. This is an important management tool at the community, provincial, regional and national level. PBMES is one of the mechanisms for evaluating the MASIPAG's impact on the specific communities.
